Brett Maletic

​I've worked in a variety of public healthcare settings since my late teens; most recently as a Social Worker in a busy ER in greater Vancouver, BC.  I recently relocated to the Yarmouth area of Nova Scotia with my family, and am happy to call the Maritimes my new home.  Since arriving, I have come to observe a resilient and robust spirit in the people here, seasoned with a generous dose of hospitality, helpfulness and a lively sense of community spirit.  I am grateful to be living among such warm and hardworking people, and look forward to continuing to raise my family here.  

When it comes to my therapeutic approach, I would say that it's quite holistic in nature.  Specifically, I tend to regard the integrity of the whole person – including their psychosocial environment – in the overall process of healing.  This means that I take a careful consideration of the wider context of a person’s life rather than isolating the specific problem areas themselves.  When it comes to the quest of understanding the deeper bedrock of any one individual, “keeping the curiosity” has been my trademark and guiding philosophy.  As such, a significant part of my coaching work is in encouraging my clients to develop and maintain a healthy curiosity about themselves throughout their entire life.
